Concurrent Training Tracks
Accommodation: This
track is designed to provide practical tools and techniques
for accommodating job seekers and workers
with all types of disabilities. Sessions will specifically
address accommodation situations and solutions for individuals
with psychiatric and cognitive impairments, motor and mobility
impairments, and sensory impairments.
Concurrent sessions
include such topics as ergonomics, enforcing standards
of behavior and conduct and accommodating employees with psychiatric
and cognitive disabilities, costs and benefits of accommodating
workers, accommodating people with respiratory impairments,
testing accommodations, and focus on technology. |
Employer Policies
and Practices (EPP): This track is designed to provide
a forum for employers to learn about and share innovative
policies
and practices for the successful hiring, accommodation, and
retention of employees with disabilities. Concurrent sessions
include such topics as recruiting, hiring, and employing qualified
individuals with disabilities; accommodation policy and practice;
the business case for employing people with disabilities;
evacuation and safety; and how to take advantage of employer
focused resources.

ADA/Legal: This
track is designed to provide information and strategies to prevent
expensive and time-consuming litigation
by complying with such laws as the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, Family and Medical Leave
Act (FMLA), workers’ compensation legislation, and
state fair employment practice laws.
Concurrent sessions
include such topics as current and pending ADA litigation,
the interplay of the ADA with other laws like FMLA, the
ADA and the employment life cycle, and medical inquiries
under the ADA. |
