Tracie D. Saab is a Human Factors Consultant and Sensory Impairment
Specialist for the Job Accommodation Network (JAN). Ms. Saab began
as a graduate student with JAN in 1994 and has been a valued member
of the JAN consultant staff since 1995. She is JAN’s senior
Sensory Impairment Specialist and provides accommodation information
and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance assistance for
individuals with sensory, immunology, and endocrinology related limitations,
such as hearing impairment, chemical sensitivity, respiratory impairment,
AIDS/HIV, and diabetes. Ms. Saab is an experienced national speaker
who specializes in ADA Title I and Rehabilitation Act compliance,
the interactive accommodation process, and using assistive technology
as a job accommodation.
Ms. Saab is credited with a number of documents
related to her field of expertise, including JAN publications such
as The Job Accommodation
Process, Reasonable Accommodation and the Interactive Process,
Accommodating People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Accommodating
People with
Fragrance Sensitivity, Accommodation and Compliance Series: Employees
with Respiratory Impairments, Job Accommodations for People with
Speech-Language Impairment, and many others.
Ms. Saab is a graduate
of West Virginia University (WVU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Psychology and a Master of Science degree
in Rehabilitation Counseling. She has served as a clinical instructor
for WVU’s Rehabilitation Counseling Graduate Program, WVU's
Graduate Certificate Program in Vocational Evaluation and Job Accommodation,
and Virginia Commonwealth University's RRTC on Workplace Supports
Web course.
Ms. Saab also serves as the JAN Conference Training
Coordinator.
