Peg Blechman
Compliance Specialist
Access Board
Peg Blechman joined the Access Board in September 1997, as a Compliance
Specialist; she determines compliance with and enforces accessibility
for Federal facilities under the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA)
of 1968. Specifically, she is responsible for investigating complaints
filed against facilities of the U.S. Postal Service.
She also is
a member of the Access Board’s Emergency Preparedness Staff
Committee and is the contact person for questions concerning that
plan. In addition, she is currently a member of the Federal Interagency
Coordinating Council (ICC) Workplace subcommittee. Further, she
worked with the Federal Interagency Committee on Disability Research
(ICDR)
Interagency Subcommittee on Technology (IST) to plan and implement
the ICDR IST conference on "Emergency Evacuation of People
with Physical Disabilities from Buildings" in October 2004.
Also, in July 2002, she participated in the development of the
Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training "Emergency Planning
and Special Needs Populations."
Ms. Blechman is an attorney.
She graduated from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic
University of America.
