Kendra Duckworth is a Human Factors Consultant and Psychiatric Impairment
Specialist for the Job Accommodation Network (JAN). Ms. Duckworth
has been a valued member of the JAN consultant staff since 1991.
She specializes in providing accommodation information for individuals
with psychiatric disabilities, cognitive and neurological impairments,
burn injuries, among other impairments. Ms. Duckworth is a sought-after
national speaker and trainer, particularly regarding job accommodations
for people with psychiatric impairments and issues of balancing behavior
and direct threat in the workplace.
Ms. Duckworth is a graduate of
West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology
and a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation
Counseling. For nearly twenty years, she has served the disability
community, and provided consultation to employers, rehabilitation
professionals, and people with disabilities about worksite accommodations,
the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Ms. Duckworth is credited with a number of documents related to
her field of expertise, including an article published in the November
1999 issue of the Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation titled “Accommodating
workers with traumatic brain injury: Issues related to TBI and ADA”,
and JAN publications related to accommodations for Employees with
Seasonal Affective Disorder, Disability and Disclosure, Stress
in the Workplace, and Accommodating Service Members and Veterans
with
PTSD, among others.
Ms. Duckworth also serves as the JAN Conference
Hospitality Coordinator.
