Joan M. Canny is a shareholder in the Miami office of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A., working exclusively in the area of Labor and Employment Law. She is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Labor and Employment Law. Ms. Canny advises employers in all areas of employment law, and has lectured extensively on employment and labor law issues. Ms. Canny also has substantial experience in employment litigation, as well as in representing management in administrative proceedings and in traditional labor matters. She received a B.A. from Yale University (summa cum laude, 1984). In 1989, Ms. Canny received a J.D. degree from Harvard University Law School and a Master of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. She was Executive Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation and worked as a law clerk for The Honorable W. Eugene Davis, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
