Mayda LaRosse

Mayda LaRosse works as a Human Factors Consultant for the US Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy's Job Accommodation Network. She graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, PA with an undergraduate degree in International Commerce and Modern Language. She received her Master of Arts in Special Education with a specialization in learning disabilities from the West Virginia University. She has taught in private schools in the Morgantown area for over 10 years.

As a Human Factors Consultant with JAN, Mayda provides information on referral services regarding accommodations that can be made for people with disabilities in the workplace. She consults with employers, rehabilitation specialist and people with disabilities about accommodating individuals with all types of disabilities with special emphasis in the subject areas of learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, sleep disorder, mental retardation and epilepsy, as well as issues related to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Aside from her consultation work, Mayda also serves as a national speaker for the Job Accommodation Network and is an instructor for the Job Accommodation course offered at West Virginia University.

Though Mayda's position as a consultant at JAN is important to her, she considers her role as wife and mother on the top of her list. Mayda has been married for 23 years and has two daughters- the younger is a junior in HS and the older one is a senior in college. She enjoys working with teenagers, so she's involved with the youth in her church.
